In-Game Shop and Iridium (IR)

Official July 2026 producer letter details: Iridium currency, cosmetic and utility shop items, 3 starting loadout slots, Untapped Potential achievements, and gameplay-earned race/class/deity unlocks.

EverQuest Legends is LIVE. Guides current through August 16, 2026 — August 18 Mistmoore preview next.

Subscription Plus Optional Shop — Not Pay-to-Win

EverQuest Legends launches July 28, 2026 as a $19.99 box plus one month, then approximately $9.99/month subscription on PC — separate from EverQuest All Access. The July 8, 2026 producer letter clarified that power progression comes from gameplay: item merging, spell upgrades, and epic quests are not sold for real money.

The optional in-game shop uses virtual currency called Iridium (IR) for convenience and customization — extra loadout slots, inventory space, weight-reduction bags, AA potions, name changes, and cosmetics. Race, class, and deity unlocks are also listed in the shop but can be earned through Untapped Potential achievements and gameplay tokens. Read the game review for honest monetization expectations.

Iridium Shop Items and Pricing (Subject to Change)

Official July 2026 shop listing from Game Jawn (pricing may change before or after launch):

  • Deity Unlock Token — 500 IR (also earnable via achievements)
  • Race Unlock Token — 1,000 IR
  • Class Unlock Token — 1,500 IR (first level-50 class per character also awards a token)
  • Additional Loadout Slot — 500 IR (more slots earnable post-launch)
  • Alternate Storage Increase — 500 IR (Plane of Sky runes and similar items move to currency-style storage)
  • Additional Inventory Slot — 500 IR
  • Weight Reduction Bags — 500–1,000 IR (12-slot 100% WR, 24-slot 80% WR, 50-slot bank bag)
  • AA Potion — 500 IR (double AA points for next five AAs, does not expire)
  • Name Change Potion — 1,000 IR
  • Token of Reclamation — 100 IR (restore a lost item)
  • Cosmetic items — pricing TBD
  • Bristly Boar mount — arriving August 18, 2026; roughly Spirit of the Wolf speed. See mounts.

Nothing in this list replaces dungeon loot or subscription access. Motes of Potential for merging and spell tiers drop in-game only and are untradable since the July 14 patch.

Launch Defaults: Loadouts, Inventory, and Achievements

Based on player feedback, launch defaults were adjusted in the July producer letter:

  • 3 Loadout slots at character creation (up from earlier beta tests)
  • 50 equipment slots in starting inventory
  • Untapped Potential achievements for every race, class, and deity unlock — all earnable through gameplay
  • Class Unlock Token awarded the first time you level a class to 50 on a character
  • Additional loadout slots planned as post-launch gameplay rewards

These defaults interact directly with the multiclass and loadouts guide. Plan your main trio before spending Iridium on convenience upgrades.

How Iridium Differs From Classic Progression

Iridium buys convenience — not raid gear, spell tiers, or difficulty unlocks. Your subscription covers world access; Iridium covers optional shortcuts similar to other Daybreak titles' cosmetic and utility shops. Players who refuse the shop can still unlock races, classes, and deities through achievements and tokens earned in Norrath.

Pair this page with pre-order details, the post-launch roadmap, and latest patch notes. During pre-order beta (through July 21, 2026), test whether three loadout slots cover your playstyle before buying extras at launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is EverQuest Legends pay-to-win?
No for gear power. Subscription is required; Iridium buys convenience items like extra loadout slots, bags, and unlock tokens that can also be earned through gameplay achievements.
How many loadout slots do I start with?
Three loadout slots at launch per the July 8, 2026 producer letter. Additional slots cost 500 Iridium or can be earned through post-launch gameplay.
Can I earn class unlock tokens without Iridium?
Yes. The first time you level a class to 50 on a character, you receive a Class Unlock Token. Untapped Potential achievements cover race, class, and deity unlocks.
Does the shop sell Motes of Potential?
No. Motes drop from gameplay and are untradable. They fund item merging and spell upgrades only through personal farming.
