Pre-Kunark Planes at Launch
Plane of Fear is live at EverQuest Legends launch on July 28, 2026 as part of the included pre-Kunark planes package — Cazic-Thule's domain of terrors, phobias, and classic raid bosses re-tuned for multiclass eight-player raids. This is high-end Classic Era content aimed at level 45–50 characters with resist gear, mez discipline, and spell tiers finished from Splitpaw and Lower Guk farms. PC-only access through Daybreak's launcher enforces True Box: one account per player, four-player groups in open world, eight-player raid caps inside Fear.
Fear shares structural DNA with Plane of Hate — keyed zone-in, difficulty scaling tiers, weekly lockouts on special drops — but emphasizes fear-based debuffs, undead swarms, and voidling camps tied to Void-touched Potential farming. Read launch tuning notes on patch notes before your first raid night.
Difficulty Scaling and Raid Flow
Fear uses the same difficulty scaling framework as revamped dungeons: select D0–D4 at zone-in to match your raid's gear and healing throughput. Lower tiers suit learning paths and alt gear farming; D3–D4 expect fire and magic resist sets, Clarity lines, and coordinated mez rotation on add waves. Personal loot applies to most trash and many named tables — eight boxes each roll independently, reducing loot council friction common in classic EQ.
Typical raid nights block two to three hours: clear outer rings, establish mez anchors, then chain named bosses toward the dracoliche wing. Solo-minded players should read solo raids for which Fear wings support smaller instanced copies versus true eight-player requirements. Cross-link prep lists on dungeons and raids with your guild's resist checklist.
Void-touched Potential from Voidlings
Raid voidlings in Plane of Fear drop Void-touched Potential — a weekly capped merge currency distinct from standard Motes of Potential (untradable since July 14). Players may earn a maximum of three Void-touched Potential per week, gating high-tier exaltation merges tied to raid progression. Prioritize voidling camps on fresh lockout weeks before farming lower-yield trash repeats.
Track your weekly cap in the merge UI — red-bordered inventory items still signal consumable investment for standard motes, while Void-touched Potential displays separate counters in the exaltation panel. Full item breakdown lives on the Void-touched Potential page. Do not skip Fear entirely if you chase endgame itemization; three per week adds up across Classic Era season play.
Composition and Lockout Planning
Raid comp mirrors classic Fear expectations updated for Legends: two tanks or SK/Warrior plus off-tank, two healers (Cleric + Shaman/Druid), Enchanter mez, and DPS flex filling to eight. True Box guilds assign one role per account — no fifty-boxer carry nonsense. Bring fear cures, magic resist gear, and mana regeneration buffs for long camps.
Schedule Fear alongside Plane of Hate key progression — both planes share launch window and similar lockout philosophy. Bank standard motes separately, spend Void-touched Potential immediately on raid-tier merges, and review patch notes after each live tuning pass for voidling spawn adjustments.
