Nektropos Castle — Fall 2026 Mini-Expansion

Nektropos Castle comes to EverQuest Legends from EQ2 as a high-level group zone, announced for Fall 2026. What we know about this EQ2 crossover dungeon, level range, and how it fits the roadmap.

EverQuest Legends is LIVE. Guides current through August 16, 2026 — August 18 Mistmoore preview next.

Coming from EQ2 to Legends — Fall 2026

Nektropos Castle is a legendary dungeon from EverQuest 2, and Daybreak has confirmed it is being adapted into EverQuest Legends as a high-level group-focused "mini-area" similar to Lower Guk. Announced at the June 23, 2026 community stream, this marks the first direct content crossover from EQ2 into the Legends universe.

The zone is described as a level 35–50 group dungeon — roughly aligned with the upper half of the current level range — making it an ideal next step for groups that have finished Mistmoore and are pushing toward Nagafen, Cazic-Thule, or the Planes. Think of it as a Fall 2026 content bridge before Kunark.

Track the official announcement on MassivelyOP and monitor the roadmap for the confirmed date. See Castle Mistmoore for the current live dungeon revamp that precedes it.

What Classic EQ2 Players Know About Nektropos

In EverQuest 2, Nektropos Castle is a sprawling vampire castle instance in the Bonemire region of Antonica — not to be confused with the Faydwer-based Castle Mistmoore. The zone features multiple wings, puzzles, named bosses, and quest chains tied to the vampire lord Nektropos and his minions.

There are multiple versions of the dungeon in EQ2, including a level 50 and a level 70 variant. The original zone entry required the quest Putting Maltena to Rest, and the zone sent players to the courtyard near Master Eldin upon using Escape.

For Legends, Daybreak has described the adaptation as group-focused with a Guk-like feel — meaning instanced sessions, personal loot, and difficulty scaling will apply. The original EQ2 quest narrative will likely be rewritten to fit Legends' pre-Kunark lore.

How It Fits the Legends Roadmap

The roadmap currently shows four distinct content tiers:

  • Live now — Planes of Fear and Hate, launch dungeons
  • August 2026 — Mistmoore Castle revamp, UI scaling, group XP
  • Fall 2026 — Nektropos Castle mini-expansion
  • Winter 2026 — Kunark content

Nektropos is explicitly positioned as a mini-expansion, not a patch update. This suggests it will ship with its own patch notes, likely new achievement tracking, and possibly new mote or currency systems. Until it ships, continue farming Mistmoore after the August 18 revamp and progressing toward Nagafen and the Planes.
